For the 2005 Year of the Eucharist, Pope John Paul II blessed six monstrances that were circulated among the dioceses of the world. The purpose of the traveling monstrances is to encourage worldwide Eucharistic adoration for the intention of increased vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
